Frequently asked questions

1. Do I need to have a makeup kit? 

Yes, you do need to bring your make up kit / brush set plus skin care to class every day.  On your first day of class the academy will give you discounts for certain makeup brands to build your kit also go through high end plus dupe products.

2. Do I need to have makeup experience to do this course?
No their is no experience required Sharleen Collins Academy is a recognised ITEC makeup academy.  We teach from beginners to pro about how to be a professional makeup artist while learning lots of different techniques styles and trends of makeup

3. What are the payment option?
Yes, we do monthly payment option which is in the payment plan and a deposit of 500 Euro is required before you start course to secure your course which is non refundable

4. Are there any additional cost in the fee?

No their is no additional cost in the fee this includes your registration, Itec exams , professional photo shoot, uniform.  (only additional is if you wish to print your portfolio images which is optional)

5. Can I pick and choose days I can attend class? 
You can pick on the day of your interview with Sharleen which days / times of course you would like to sign up for but once we have agreed on days you must stick to them days as courses are fully booked.

6. Do I have to pay for my portfolio?
No your professional photo shoot is included in the costs

7. Do I need a model for class?
No Every night each artist will work on each other in class – for the day of Mocks – professional photo shoot and ITEC exams you will be required to bring models them days but your lecture will give you plenty of notice of dates required for models.

8. If I miss class due to holidays or being sick, do I get to make up class?
Absolutely as long as you have given the academy notice well in advance we can accommodate you and let you sit into another class. But it is up to you to as an artist to get notes off your class friends of what you have missed to catch up.

9. Can I fail this course?
Yes, you can fail this course if you are absent for a certain number of days. You need to pass all of your exams and make sure you have your portfolio to a high standard of Makeup.

10. Is there any age restriction?
minimum age 16 – There is no age limit you are never too old to learn

11. Do you hold open days?
Yes, we do hold open days every quarter

12. Where is the college located?
32 Lower Lesson Street, Dublin

13. Can I visit the college?
Absolutely at any time

14. What is expected from me as a student?
Willing to learn, a good positive attitude always, being aware of time keeping and attendance the course is short and very intense its to important not miss class, uniform on always, General hygiene how to look presentable, Homework done every week must get signed off by lecture, Full set of clean brushes, Makeup kit and skin care products for all classes.
